I started UNIVRSLL because I kept running into problems worth solving, and wanted to build the fix properly rather than hand it to someone else and hope.

The first few were for me — a way to plan an awkward work rotation, a way to cut a clip without opening a video editor. Then people started asking for copies. Today the same instinct runs a review platform that local businesses pay for, an encrypted chat app and a shelf of free Windows tools, with a document-intelligence product on the way.

What I enjoy most is the very beginning, when someone describes a problem in ordinary language and we work out together what it should actually become. Half of that conversation is usually deciding what not to build. The other part I like is the end: when it has been running for months and nobody has had to ask about it.

UNIVRSLL takes on a small number of projects at a time, on purpose. It means we can answer the same day, change direction in week three without a change-request process, and still be here when something breaks a year later. It also means we will sometimes tell you we are not the right fit — or that you shouldn’t build the thing at all.
