UNIVRSLL ScreenShot — Privacy policy
Last updated November 3, 2026
This is the privacy policy for the UNIVRSLL ScreenShot app for Windows. Support: contact@univrsll.com.
UNIVRSLL ScreenShot is a Windows app for taking, marking up and sharing screenshots. It is made by UNIVRSLL LLC, a Michigan limited liability company, 7401 Williamson Street, Dearborn, MI 48126, USA. Contact: contact@univrsll.com.
The short version
Your screenshots stay on your PC until you send them somewhere yourself. The app does not collect, upload or sell any personal information, and we never see your screenshots.
What the app looks at
When you press Print Screen or click the app’s icon, the app takes a picture of your screens so you can choose what to keep. It also reads the position and size of your open windows, so you can click a window to capture just that window. It does not read what is inside other apps beyond what is visible in the picture.
A screenshot shows whatever is on your screen, and that can include personal information, such as names, email addresses or messages. You choose what to capture, and the pixelate tool lets you hide details before you share the picture.
Where your pictures go
Only where you send them:
- Copy puts the picture on the Windows clipboard. If you have turned on Windows clipboard history or cloud clipboard, Windows may keep a copy there, under Windows’ own settings.
- Save to PC saves it as a PNG file in your Pictures folder, in “UNIVRSLL ScreenShot”. It stays there until you delete it.
- Print sends it to the printer you pick.
- Word, PowerPoint and Outlook receive the picture on your PC. To hand it over, the app saves a temporary copy in the Windows temp folder; it deletes these copies after a day.
- When the new Outlook is your email app, the app copies the picture and opens a new email for you to paste it into.
Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini buttons
These buttons copy the picture to your clipboard and open that app, or its website if the app isn’t installed. Our app uploads nothing. The picture reaches that service only if you paste it there yourself, and from then on that service’s own privacy policy applies (Anthropic for Claude, OpenAI for ChatGPT, Google for Gemini). UNIVRSLL ScreenShot is not made by, or affiliated with, those companies.
What the app sends
Nothing. The app has no account, no sign-in, no cloud storage, no advertising, no analytics and no crash reporting of its own. UNIVRSLL LLC receives no information from the app.
What the app keeps on your PC
- A small settings file that remembers whether the app has asked you about starting with Windows.
- If something goes wrong, an error log with technical error messages, so a problem can be fixed. It never contains your pictures. It stays on your PC unless you choose to send it to us.
Both are in the folder %LocalAppData%\UNIVRSLL ScreenShot. When the app is installed from the Microsoft Store, uninstalling it removes them. Pictures you saved stay in your Pictures folder.
Starting with Windows
The app starts when you sign in to Windows only if you say yes when it asks. You can change this at any time in Windows Settings → Apps → Startup.
The Microsoft Store
If you install UNIVRSLL ScreenShot from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft handles the download, installation, updates and any payment, under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Microsoft gives developers summary reports. For example, they show how many people installed an app, and include crash reports that Windows collects if the app stops working. Those reports do not give us your name or contact details, and they never contain your screenshots. We use them only to fix problems in the app.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
