UNIVRSLL Passwords — Privacy policy
Last updated October 31, 2026
This is the privacy policy for the UNIVRSLL Passwords app for Windows. Support: contact@univrsll.com.
UNIVRSLL Passwords is a Windows app that keeps your passwords encrypted on your own PC. It is made by UNIVRSLL LLC, a Michigan limited liability company, 7401 Williamson Street, Dearborn, MI 48126, USA. Contact: contact@univrsll.com.
The short version
Everything stays on your PC, and we never see it. The app does not collect, send or sell any personal information.
What the app stores
The app stores the account details you type into it: website or app names, website addresses, emails, usernames, passwords and notes. It stores them in an encrypted vault file on your PC, in the folder .PasswordManager in your Windows user profile. The vault is encrypted with a key that only your master password or your recovery key can unlock. We do not have either of them and cannot open your vault.
The app also saves your chosen display size (70%, 85% or 100%) in a small settings file. It contains no account information.
What the app sends
Nothing. The app does not connect to the internet. It has no account, no sign-in, no cloud sync, no advertising, no analytics and no crash reporting. UNIVRSLL LLC receives no information from the app.
The univrsll.com link in the app opens our website in your web browser. The app sends nothing with it, and your passwords never leave the vault.
Backups
If you use Settings → Backup, the app saves an encrypted copy of your vault wherever you choose, for example a USB stick. That copy opens only with the master password or recovery key that was valid when you saved it. Where you keep backups is up to you.
Clipboard
When you copy a password, the app removes it from the clipboard after 30 seconds (unless you have copied something else since), and marks it so Windows keeps it out of clipboard history and cloud clipboard.
Removing your data
Uninstalling the app does not delete your vault, so you don’t lose your passwords by accident. To remove it, delete the folder %USERPROFILE%\.PasswordManager and any backups you made.
The Microsoft Store
If you install UNIVRSLL Passwords from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft handles the download, installation, updates and any payment, under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Microsoft gives developers summary reports — for example, how many people installed an app, and crash reports that Windows collects if the app stops working. Those reports do not give us your name or contact details, and they never contain anything from your vault. We use them only to fix problems in the app.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
